God is a holy God

I have been struck recently by the truth that God is holy and how important it is to acknowledge Him in everything we do. In Leviticus 22:31-32 God says, “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord. Do not profane my holy name, for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the Lord, who made you holy.’

God was telling Moses that the Israelites had to acknowledge Him as holy. This was such a challenge to me when I was reading this and it felt so applicable for us today.  So many times we can treat God casually when we come before Him.  It made me ask this question: do we really acknowledge Him as holy in our lives?

We need to have a revelation of God’s holiness. I found myself reflecting on this and asking God to give me a revelation of His holiness and to help me acknowledge Him as holy in everything in my life.  Coming before God and asking Him to help us is important because in those moments, He will start to show us areas in our lives where we need to acknowledge Him.

Reading this passage also made me realise that it is a daily process of coming before Him. This is not just a one-day act of coming before Him. It is about acknowledging God daily in everything that we do in our lives.  Each of us are on a  journey in our daily walk with God and that means bringing ourselves before Him every day.

I pray that we would learn what it means to acknowledge God as holy in everything we do and that we would have a revelation of His holiness.
