Blessed to be a blessing

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us- so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.’ Psalm 67:1

God’s blessing is on us. The people of God throughout the ages are a blessed people! Isn’t that amazing!

We are blessed at home.
We are blessed at work.
We are blessed in school.
We are blessed in university.

We are blessed! We are blessed by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Because of Jesus we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ! Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3). What an incredible truth that is. Let us meditate on that truth!

However, there is a purpose to this blessing. We are blessed to be a blessing to those around us and to the nations. The purpose of that blessing is to make Him known, to bring His Kingdom purposes on the earth and make His name great over all the earth. This psalm says, ‘may God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us- so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations (Psalm 67:1-2).’

Today in 2021, 2,000 years after the Church was birthed through the fire of the Holy Spirit, there are still approximately 42% of the world’s population who are unreached; this means to have no church community in that part of the world.

Psalm 67 is our anthem! This is our mission, to see the nations of the world praise Him. We will not stop until we see every nation, every tribe and every tongue around the throne praising Him!

- Josh Raybould

Inward prayer: Lord, help me to see my blessings as a way of blessing others.

Outward prayer: Lord, I pray that the nations would praise You. Lord, may Your kingdom come in all the unreached people groups of the world, in Jesus’ name.
