Love in Action
What is one of the kindest things someone has ever done for you? How did it make you feel?
In 2016 I went through a really difficult season and some friends sent me a care package in the post. It had chocolate, DVDs, encouraging notes and all kinds of lovely bits and pieces! I felt so loved and so valued by what they had done.
When you love someone, you say it with words but you also demonstrate it with action.
Because God the Father loves each one of us so much, He did the greatest thing that anyone could ever do for us. God sent Jesus to lay down his life for us so that we could be brought back into relationship with God forever. John 15:13 says, ‘Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.’
Father God doesn’t just say He loves us, but He has demonstrated it for us through Jesus. This is what God as Father has done for us- this is His love in action.
Today we can know God as our Father who wants to have a relationship with us. 1 John 3:1 says, "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!’ God as a Father has lavished- poured out- His love on us.
I pray that today we would have a fresh revelation of the Father’s extravagant love for us. I pray that the love of the Father would be revealed to those who don’t know Him yet and that we may be bold in telling others that they are loved by the Heavenly Father.
