Kingdom Expansion: A Year of Greater Revelation

2025 is a year of Kingdom expansion—a season where we believe God will do immeasurably more in and through our lives. As we step into this new year, Ephesians 1:15-19 offers us profound encouragement and a powerful prayer for growth and impact.

In this passage, the apostle Paul writes to the church in Ephesus, beginning with gratitude: “I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” His words resonate deeply as I reflect on the faithfulness of our All Nations family. Like Paul, I am filled with gratitude for your love for God and for one another.

But Paul’s prayer doesn’t stop with thankfulness. He intercedes for the Ephesians to receive “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that [they] may know Him better.” It’s striking that Paul prays this for a church born in revival—a community already familiar with God’s power and presence. This reminds us that no matter how much we know God, there is always more of Him to discover.

I first encountered God as a child when my mum led me to Christ at the age of five. Over the years, I have experienced His presence, peace, and power in profound ways. Yet, like Paul, I remain hungry to know God more fully.

This hunger mirrors the dynamic of any deep relationship. After almost 28 years of marriage, I continue to discover new facets of my husband, Steve, as we spend time together daily. The same principle applies to our relationship with God. As we walk with Him through His Word, commune with Him in prayer, and invite the Holy Spirit to guide us, our knowledge of Him deepens, and our love grows.

Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1 challenges us to pursue this deeper intimacy with God. As we grow in revelation, our perspective begins to shift. We start to see the “glorious inheritance” we have in Christ and grasp the “incomparably great power” available to us as believers.

This inner transformation is where kingdom expansion begins. As God’s truth reshapes our hearts and minds, we are compelled to live lives that reflect His love and greatness. The impact of this transformation ripples outward, touching the lives of those around us.

Let’s take this opportunity to pray Paul’s prayer together:

Lord, give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know You better. Open the eyes of my heart to see the hope-filled future You have for me. Help me grasp the power available to me through Christ. Enlarge my heart to love You more, and expand my understanding so that my life reflects Your greatness and impacts those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May 2025 be a year where His kingdom expands within us and through us, bringing His light to the world.
